Education Concern is a Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organisation formed in the year 2013 with a vision to provide need based education to Persons with Special Needs, Empower their Family and Sensitise the Community. This will enable Persons with Special Needs to have equal rights and better quality of life. To realise this mission Education Concern has vowed to work towards providing opportunities for capacity development of Persons with Special Needs, helping them to attain their rights, empowering their families and facilitating and promoting the creation of an enabling environment and inclusive society.
To realise the vision and achieve the mission Education Concern has decided to establish a school in Rohtak in 2013 named PHOOLWARI to provide education, speech and language therapy, physio-occupational therapy and training in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Initially this school started catering to Hearing Impaired, Learning Disabled, Slow Learners, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Children. The school was started with 04 student and now the strength has been raised to 44 student. The school has got essential infrastructure to meet the needs of special children. School has been provided qualified Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist and Special Educators to provide essential therapeutic and educational services.
From July 2016, the Society has decided to provide services to the children with special needs having Intellectual and Developmental disabilities like – Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Disability etc. Education Concern has planned to have separate facilities for children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Education Concern believes in the philosophy that empowerment of Parents and Family Members of Persons with Special Needs is very important and essential as this helps in successful holistic development as well as leads to their successful inclusion in the society. To achieve the laid objectives Education Concern feels it essential to generate awareness among masses which will facilitate successful inclusion. To achieve the laid objectives we look forward to have support from all the stakeholders.
